皇冠新现金网 Announces Finalists for Superintendent/President

Butte-Glenn 社区 College District (BGCCD) President of the 校董会, 朱莉的老板, has announced two finalists will move forward in the Superintendent/President search process after a national search.

Below are candidate biographies and hybrid Zoom public forum information for faculty, 工作人员, 政府, and community members to attend in-person or via Zoom. Each candidate has a separate Zoom webinar link.

维吉尼亚Guleff brings 36 years of experience in the 加州 社区 College system to the presidency at 皇冠新现金网. Virginia has a demonstrated commitment to serving rural communities, with 15 years in leadership roles at Northern 加州 rural colleges. Virginia is an experienced collaborator; in her current position as Vice President of Instruction, she has led 皇冠新现金网 in its recent college-wide effort to successfully reaffirm its accreditation as well as in its efforts to transition to online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also supported college program connectivity with community members and local business and industries.  A seasoned facilitator, Virginia has been an invited speaker at numerous statewide conferences and has led strategic planning both locally and at the state-level. Virginia has a long-standing commitment to serving diverse student populations; 皇冠新现金网 is the fourth Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) at which Virginia has held a leadership role. Virginia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from San Jose State University and a Masters of Arts in Linguistics from San Diego State University. She lives locally with her family.

金正日洛佩兹 is a second generation Mexican-American who has served as an educational leader in the 加州 社区 Colleges for over 25 years.  She attributes her passion for equity-centered education to her paternal grandparents who immigrated to the United States in the early 1900’s from the Chihuahua region of Mexico. As a graduate student, Kim successfully wrote a Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (TRIO) grant and was hired to be the first director. 从那时起, she continued to work with low-income and first-generation college students while serving for three years as the Assistant Dean of 学生s at the University of 加州, San Diego and for two years as the Upward Bound (TRIO) director at the College of Micronesia on the island of Kosrae. While serving for thirteen years at the College of the Siskiyous (COS) as the bgi的/CARE, CalWORKs and TRIO counselor and director, Kim developed her skills in college teaching, as a faculty leader and in student services 政府. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts degree in 咨询 Education from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. 金已经结婚了, has two adult daughters and although she has worked in the San Francisco Bay Area for 11 years, her home is in Mount Shasta, 加州.
